The nursery is in the centre of the conservation area in the market town of Bingham near Nottingham. Children share access to two enclosed outdoor, safety surfaced play areas and a woodland/farm/wildlife activity centre. Despite the many cosmetic alterations, the Nursery still retains its unique, quaint, family atmosphere; largely supported by the children being divided into small groups with their immediate peers, where they are encouraged to undertake a wide range of activities encompassing all types of sand, water, art and creative play. Children learn through fun; group work and ‘circle time’ are used to help to develop confident social and communication skills, with the opportunity to join in and express themselves during role play, dressing up, singing and music making.
Our exclusive woodland activity centre provides the children with a unique opportunity to explore their natural environment on a daily basis. Learning activities support the renowned forest schools principles; receiving worldwide interest as a means of combating nature deficit disorder, witnessed with the increased use of computer technology. The new facilities will encourage children to care for our natural world, with the ultimate aim of promoting the sustainability of our planet.
